'While We Were Sleeping'
Winter is a long stretch but bright spots appear in the garden when we aren't paying attention. Out of the dark and cold comes light and colour giving a burst of warmth and a reminder of the warmer days to come. I wanted to contrast the dark background with the light and bright blooms, while keeping the foliage subdued so the flowers could command centre stage.
