'Heading Into Peacock Country'
Loosely inspired by drives last winter from the volcanic plateau through to Whanganui. I was fascinated by the layers of hills continuing off into the distance. Especially heading inland on my way home. My dad told us to look out for wild peacocks in the paddocks along the roadside and indeed we saw them many times. I had already named the painting in my head before it was finished and on the last edit I noticed an abstract peacock form had appeared in the foreground. I decided it must be fate and accentuated it slightly.
